A few months ago, Coptic Orphans held a High Achievers Ceremony celebrating children and youth who did great things: excelled academically, overcame tough challenges and perfected their talents.
Now, with the results of Thanaweya Amma (least year of high school) launching our youth into new futures, it seems good to revisit Nermien’s words at the celebration.
Nermien Riad told these high achievers:
Because you started, we are providing support. I want to tell you that no matter how hard it is, we can conquer it all together. As long as God grants us talents, capacities, health, and any of His other gifts, we will use it not only for us, but for others. I left Egypt when I was 7 years old and I’m always asked: how come you have been abroad for 40 years and you are still concerned? I want to tell you that all of us abroad are very concerned with Egypt’s children and your progress.
