Fr. Rizkalla, a Coptic Orthodox priest, brings the presence of Christ into a Coptic Orphans home visit. Even without accompanying priests, our volunteer Reps bring that same presence by their loving actions. In an informal survey also mentioned in this post, 80% of our families answered “what’s the biggest thing that has changed for you since becoming part of Not Alone?” with a nearly identical answer: “before, we felt alone and cut off from Christ and the Church, but now we felt like we have been brought near to Christ again, and are part of the church.” That makes all the difference for fatherless families who face the alienation of poverty.
